Meet Matt
Matthew Wrigley is a Registered General Psychologist who is passionate about supporting people through life’s challenges with compassion, curiosity, and care.
Matthew believes that strong therapeutic relationships are the foundation of effective therapy. His approach focuses on building genuine connection, creating a safe space where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and working together towards meaningful change.
Matthew works with children, adolescents, and adults, supporting a range of emotional and psychological concerns including anxiety, stress, adjustment difficulties, ADHD, autism, and grief.
Before working in private practice, Matthew spent several years working in child protection services, where he supported children and families experiencing complex life situations. This experience gave him strong insight into the needs of young people and the importance of creating safe, trusting relationships with children and families.
Matthew has a special interest in grief counselling following changes in circumstances due to health concerns or loss of loved ones. He provides sensitive and compassionate support to individuals and couples navigating this deeply personal experience.
Matthew is known for his calm, approachable nature and practical, collaborative style, helping clients feel supported while developing strategies that promote long-term wellbeing.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his young family and staying active through tennis and other outdoor activities.
